The World Class Program: 3 Learning Stages

Think

Begin by learning about global issues and citizenship. Upon registration teachers receive a private virtual classroom and hard and soft copies of GEAR, World Vision's Global Education Activity Resource. The GEAR kit includes curriculum-linked lessons and educational videos for grades 2 to 8 on topics such as rights and responsibilities, communities, water, education, the impact of HIV and AIDS on children and peace and conflict.

Act

Once students have expanded their awareness of global issues, it's time to take action. Teachers and students work together to plan and implement a meaningful action on an issue they are passionate about.

Change

Students reflect on their learning and actions by writing a classroom blog about the impact on their values and perspectives. They connect with other students across Canada by sharing their blog through the unique School Window tool. Upon completing this final stage, students receive official recognition as a World Class classroom.
